Chris Rogers was back on the news channel last night for the first time since November last year and must have been replacing Clive Myrie. Clive has started doing the late shift for the past few weeks on a Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, occasionally a Thursday.

That's Clive's regular slot, and has been for years now?

And its hardly surprising that Chris hadn't been seen yet this year (although I'm sure he was on at some point over Xmas) considering how little relief has been needed.

It has but its noticeable how much more consistent he's been in that slot since the New Year compared to before when he'd only appear about twice a week at the most. Same with Sophie Raworth on the News at One - far more consistently doing Monday to Thursday this year compared to before when Simon and Reeta would regularly fill in.

Interesting to see a Full 60 second countdown on the news channel at 10 with Clive and a quick headline sequence. BBC One news at Ten delayed due to extra time in the football. Wonder if the news channel will show the BBC One bulliten or remain a separate programme.

There is about 6 minutes of ET in that match on BBC One. Leicester have just scored another goal to make it 3-1 against Derby City.

Is Clive still doing the news in E?

The NC is in Studio A at the moment - as mentioned above they did a headline sequence at 10pm which ended with a little musical sting that used to be used on the quarter heads when they were in N6, before going into the top story.

Clive just signed off at 10:20 saying the news channel is to now join Sophie Raworth with the BBC One programme.

I'm guessing they will have to do The Papers at 11:30 since there won't be enough time do it before 11:00 (and there by cancelling the Newsnight repeat for the second night running.)

But what about all those young people yearning for the Newsnight repeat?!

A quick recording of the BBC One NW swimmers ident into the news just now. Wonder if the "at 10" bit was just muted or the ident done live.

That quite frankly don't exist!
