(1) Do you work for the BBC?
(2) Do any relatives to close contacts of yours work for the BBC?
(3) At the very least, you don't think that charging £140m to collect the licence fee is ridiculous? That's using licence fee funds (precious revenue) to collect more revenue...but that's a giant collection charge, especially when you consider that the BBC could have two more BBCi web sites, or about 15% of another BBC1, or nearly double its newsgathering capability (or double its marketing expenditures) with that amount spent elsewhere.
(4) Aren't you concerned with the enormous expenditure on market research and marketing, publicity, etc.? Do you think it's fair that the BBC use public funds to compete with private channels by spending so much on publicity?

(5) Do you have no interest whatsoever in how your licence fee is spent?

Phileas Fogg:

I hope I can communicate my feelings on this matter more clearly for you this time. It would appear I have been speaking into a vaccuum previously.

I spend a lot of money on 'entertainment' throughout the year, be it on nights out, the cinema, renting movies and so on. The £122.00 a year I pay for the BBC services is the best value for money out of any of the above I mentioned. I spend more than 10 times that on cigarettes for heavens sake.

You are not going to convince me that your financial re-distribution philosophy would be benificial.

And once again I note that you attempt to dismiss my opinion by suggesting (this time) I work for the BBC. I do not. I am simply a satisfied customer. Why do you find this so difficult to swallow?
