I wondered where Mr Tom Servo got his name from.......
Intresting. Surely someone could buy it? FTN or BBC Three perhaps?
The Sci-Fi Channel in this country have shown it, I don't know if they show it as much nowadays, but I have definately seen it on there.
According to http://www.uk.scifi.com/shows.asp they only seem to show eleven shows and a movie. I see Jurassic Park is scheduled for Tuesday, does it even belong on that channel?
Two degrees of sci-fi - domestic and extra-terrestrial. JPark is an earth-bound sci-fi film, as opposed to 2001: ASO or Close Encounters. Truth be told, sci-fi nowadays is inexorably linked to space and aliens and or both. (ET is an extra-terrestrial film despite being set totally on Earth)
I wonder if the terrestrial/FTA channels (never sure what to call them now) channels, ie. BBC1/BBC2/ITV1/C4/Five have any plans to add DOGs or watermarks to their signals? I'm not suggesting they should, but it is becoming common practice in other parts of the world.
The least 'obtrusive' watermark I've personally seen is Channel Seven's in Oz. It's barely visible unless you're actually looking for it (and it's at the bottom right of the screen). In my opinion DOGs or watermarks should mirror that example.
Sorry, I don't have a cap of it to explain what I mean.
Fascinating pics - it seems (and maybe you'd say this is obvious) that the stations broadcast two different streams in the US - one high definition and the other for regular television (those DOGs aren't 4:3 safe and often HD specific) - rather than here where our widescreen and ordinary analogue picture can come from the same source.

Well, obviously C5 had a dog until it became five, while C4 also had a DOG in the top right (barely noticeable) for a few days before it was quickly dropped. I also think both BBC1 and BBC2 have had DOGs for a brief time on digital TV.
Noticed last night that the BBCi Crisis Command service had a BBCi DOG in the top right.
If managed well I don't have a problem with DOGs - most of them US ones are barely noticable.
