How Gay Are You?

Next showing on 2004-05-23 at 22:00 - 23:00

1 of 3. First in a new series which asks heterosexual men - as well as their girlfriends or wives - questions about their pastimes and lifestyles to try to find out just how in touch they are with their gay side.

I am gay and obvously so is my boyfriend - and when we say this during enterprise we both burst out laughing and he said "I might jsut watch this so I can complain after"

My issue is it will be full of stereotypes of cmap disco bunnies with more mince than in a butchers shop.

This is ufair to the gay population as it could cause resentment towards gay men and women.

Is Gay Stereotype TV the new reality show?

Goodness aren't gay men fantastic, I must buy one and pop him in my handbag!

I for one find this kind of programming offensive.

A "pocket poof" - my boyfriend is only 5'3 - he will be small enough! Very Happy
Will send him round, but it will all depend on the type of handbag!

Dave, I'd say you're more thick skinned than to be offended surely! That said, complain away.... personally I just think it's cheap crap... but I'll try and watch and see what I think.

its not the fact its abot gay people... but te fact that it and most other shows about gay peole make them all aout to be camp limp wristed squeeky disco queens.. wich is unfair - like you said , im the skinhead type, (as for the think bit - will not say anything more) and I dont like being assoiated with that image.. Yes Im Gay nad very proud of it but im not camp. (most peoples opinion) LOL Very Happy

Did anyone see South Park on Sky One last night. Everyone decided it was cool to be "gay" after watching Queer Eye. The kids at school were trying to out gay each other and being called straight was a term of abuse. It was very funny and I am not much of a South Park fan.

For some reason it seems to be okay to stereotype gay people on telly. Can you imagine the fuss if Sky aired 'How Pakistani Are You?' based on racial stereotypes instead?

Or to that matter, "How disabled are you?"

I think the most appropriate analogy would be "How Black Are You?"

Actually while I wasn't annoyed about it before, I think I am now.

They wouldn't dare. You might tell them.

I kid, I kid.
