My guess is that they'll be fully synchronized with ITV1 in England, and will have the same idents, presentation, etc. but with "Scottish TV" and "Grampian TV" stamped over the ITV1 logo. Channel will use the standard ITV1 versions, but will probably also refresh their everlasting Heart of the Islands regional ident with the new background and music. UTV probably won't change their idents, but will take the new look promos, etc. and stamp their logo on top.

I actually very much doubt they'll change when the main ITV Regions of England do. They're still using they first run of idents created for ITV and to be fair I don't think Grampian/Scottish TV have to follow ITV's style of presentation and only have done more recently to fit in with the network.

It would be nice if they just introduced a new look on the SMG stations as most of the 'in house' ones they now play have no relavance at all to the stations!

I'm going to guess they stick with what they've got until they get bought over. The entire SMG philosophy at the moment appears to be to cut costs to the bone to make the company look as attractive to ITV PLC as possible, while continuing to use the Scottish and Grampian names to give ITV an incentive to buy them over. They've not got rid of the celebrities despite the fact that so many of them are hideously outdated and new ones being introduced down south, so why would they get rid of them just because ITV1 is switching?
If they want a cheap solution to the problem, they could simply use the generic idents (clouds, night-time etc). Although the Scotsport one is the cheapest thing I've ever seen.

Well now even if Scotland don't do this, surely a similar sort of thing will need to happen to the Wales feed [from London]. Promoting stuff on ITV1W -- ITV2 -- ITV3, or whatever it is they're doing, it's all v second guesses.
Or maybe they'll use this opportunity to get rid of the Wales identity/peeps/hassle -- but Mr Harvey promised us that wouldn't happen for years, so that's just *not* an option.
They may as well put to bed the ITV Wales idents and announcers when this new look launches. Just have some ITV Wales idents before local programmes and news.
Btw I noticed after tonights ITV Wales News there was a next caption and the Welsh announcer told us what was coming up, this is unusual as Wales normally just get the network announcer on those next caption things.

Lets hope ITV1Wales retains it's on-air Wales branding on Nov 1st. I for one hope they DONT use this as an opportunity to get rid of the Wales name on the idents. I suppose we wont see the location-style regional idents anymore fromt hat date either - which is a shame.
I also spotted the welsh male announcer stating what was coming up next - I wonder why they have never voiced them in the past?
