Even better, this was her third attempt at reading those headlines in an hour. I don't understand why after the first attempt she didn't decide to edit the script to actually make it readable.

Not to sound nasty, but i've seen better student TV stations, and i'm talking FE, not even University level.

Shocking, I mean, some of my uni shows were better!

It surely boils down to training and coaching at the end of the day - and the talents of those conducting it.

As I said previously, you have to wonder if the people writing and putting the bulletin together have actually seen a TV news broadcast before.

It actually is closer in quality to the kind of thing our students do in their very first week of a BTEC Media Production course! Smile

Would any of your students at that stage ask a (championship level) football coach "what are your weaknesses?"?

Well that was thoroughly terrible, thank you very much for uploading dosxuk.

Here's the 6pm to 6.30 segment, titled "What's On Sheffield", and described like this on their website.
Quote:
What’s On Sheffield – a magazine based events round-up with video clips and guests (film, music, theatre, clubs – 6pm every weekday)

This one has actual celebs in.

News programme is currently uploading.

The news headlines before What's on Sheffield had more actual news than any of London Live's supposed 'news' programmes.

However, the delivery and set are awful.

I'll give them credit for one thing, the weather bulletin, despite the cheesy bed did the job.

Is it possible to have less news than they did? There was only one actual news story (the minor fire doesn't count, probably only got covered because it's literally 100m up the road from their office).

The weather doesn't get updated every day either, which is a bit annoying.

Despite living in Sheffield it's the first time I've seen any of their output since I can't pick it up where I am.

From what I've seen so far truly, truly woeful in every way. I particularly enjoyed the filler clips for the first 2 minutes of the What's On Sheffield clip - I've truly no idea what the pictures are of or what they are meant to represent. And the sound is excruciating, which obviously tempts people to leave the channel on. Not that they'd be immediately put off as soon as the programme came on anyway!

The graphics and presentation look like they were designed with Powerpoint 97 and Wordart. The content is (at least to me) tedious and the poorly filmed video actually shrinks down in one of the clips in the show. Yuck yuck yuck....

And here we go, their flagship 30 minute news programme.

I feel I should point out that the really long hold at the end of the titles, followed by the presenter nervously looking around is another of the channel's features that can be seen on every bulletin.

(For our foreign readers - this is directly up against the BBC regional news)
