It says on Teletext tonight that Paul O'Grady has decided that he doesn't want to take over the helm from Jim Davidson as presenter of The Generation Game after finding the whole experience physically knackering and tiring.
He said that he thought the pilot show that he has filmed is disasterous and has made him think twice about presenting it.
Consequently, there is no host at the moment to present the show which should be returning soon!
What does everyone think about this then huh??? And who should present it now???

It all came out whilst Paul was on This Morning talking about the soap awards, technically this afternoon at 12 (or there abouts). Phil asked him about other projects, Eyes Down which they start to shoot the second series of in 3 weeks if anyone is interested, and the Generation Game.
He said that a kid bounced on his neck with a space hopper, and the set was made of carpet, sounds bizarre, but it would have been fun to watch, as Phil & Fearne said. It may turn out to be the best and most entertaining show in the world, but if he Paul doesn't want to do it, then they can't force him to!
As for the options in the voting, it would be nice to see Brucie do it, but I'm sure even he must be sick of doing it by now, wouldn't it be his 3rd time doing it if he did, that would clearly show that it's his show though.
I bet that they will get Graham Norton to have a try, and his camp manner may bring an element of Larry Grayson back to the show, after they've paid so much for him, they may aswell use him for more than one show, just as itv have done with Ant & Dec.
Harry Hill's someone that I'd like to see try something like that, he'd most probably play it very straight and sarcastically, as though he's trying to be serious about it but wants to burst out laughing.
Didn't itv sign a deal with Harry Hill though, after TV Burp (which I hope will return), they should work with him more. He's a great comedian on his own, like he could be in a variety or game show with sketches and/or contestants thrown in, he's proved that with straight jokes he's excellent, as opposed to with the Harry Hill show, which was fun and watchable but no where near the comedic value of TV Burp.
I've found the pilot of TV Burp on video from Christmas 2001 where he came on (and presented throughout dressed like...) Spike (i think) from Hi-Di-Hi, in his yellow coat.
It's the one that combined Ian McShane and Danny Louroo (Sp?) to make David Dickinson, the one where he takes a horse to Les Battersby, and goes on about Tamzin Outhwaite swimming with dolphins.
And I've just seen that itv have another Celebrity Stars In Their Eyes on this saturday, I home the autumn will bring a lot of new programming, that's why I hate the summer, all you seem to get are repeats or old formats.
Eyes Down which they start to shoot the second series of in 3 weeks if anyone is interested,
That actually got RECOMISSIONED?!?!?! It was dire, it wasn't even funny.
Paul O'Grady should stick to being a TV presenter or being Lily, the stuff he's best at, I wouldn't mind if ITV showed Blankety Blank again as his version was good.
Out of the list above, Graham Norton looks to me the most likely. He's partly done something similar on his own show on Channel 4, he's quite energetic and witty.
I can't see Bruce doing it again, and can't see it working with Harry Hill. You must be joking about the rest... Terry Wogan? Des Lynam?! *Shakes head*

The story that was floting round last week was that the BBc thought it was no good and canned it

That's certainly what MediaGuardian.co.uk were reporting last week:

But the BBC has gone back to the drawing board with The Generation Game, after deciding not to proceed to a series from a Paul O'Grady pilot.
