Mine doesnt like working on my old OD box. Ahwell. They took the channel 4 interactivity off, (press red on C4 etc) aswell and I quite liked having it there, but it might be because of my incompatible/broken box.
When Did Teletext on 4 launch on DSAT? I tried it yesterday by pressing the text button and it was there. Its the first time I have used Teletext on 4 as my ITV Digital box will not work with it.
I have to say the service is not too bad. Better then the c*ap on ITV channels!
Is the service the same as whats on DTT or is the DSAT version more improved? Glad it works on E4 too. Does it work on Film Four? Will have to try during a freeview.
BTW on DTT does Teletext on 4 work on E4 on Top-up TV or is it just Channel 4 and channel 50 (or whatever their number is)?
Teletext on 4! I hate it!
When I go to ch50. and get that screen which says press text, I press Text and it says 'This service is not available on your digital reciever'! the same thing is said when I press and coloured button.
Wonder why?? May as well chuck the box up in the loft if its not going to service me properly and stick with the Big Boys and Sky set top boxes.
Apparently it's been deliberately written in a manner which can't be supported by the ex on/itv digital boxes. It's not really your box's fault - and (after all) 99% of what freeview offers is still available to your box, so don't chuck it just yet.
There's a thread on this at Digital Spy too, although most people there are in favour of 'moving on' and abandoning thos eof us with 'old' boxes.
And then we have the bizarre situation of TopUp TV *relying* on people with the old ITV/ON Digital boxes to provide them with a source of profit.
I'm still flummoxed how they believe they're going to profit in the long run....

Because in the long run they will not be relying on the OnDigital boxes - using the existing boxes was just an easy way of getting the service up and running quickly whilst new equipment is brought to market.
