Have they updated it? Last time I checked they still hadn't.
The Red Button+ splash screen uses a version of the logo with the BBC logo centred - looks so much better.

Because as an app icon it will be in a box anyway. So you make sure it fits the box.
Its already in a box, why does it need another box,
BBC I player does not have a box, yet it is used as an app icon.

And they don't even use the logo really on the actual CBBC app, apart from a small version.

Why have stuck a box around it, terrible.

A hideous logo, if I didn't know that is was the CBBC logo I wouldn't be able to tell that it was meant to say CBBC. The BBC have really let themselves go in terms of channel logos - there have been better CBBC logos in the Gallery. BBC presentation hasn't been consistent for years, but at least the logos used to all sit nicely next to each other such as on the TV page now it is just a bizarre collection of shapes. Abstract art is great when it is art, but having a design you have to think about what it represents is the opposite of branding. The fundamental rule of branding is it should be instantly recognisable, I shouldn't have to spend time trying to work out what the logo is for like I did with this one. Plus this new random placing of the BBC logo just seems like an after thought, it should be part of the logo not just slapped in the corner.

Logos are only instantly recognisable once they had public exposure. Give it a few weeks or at most months and lots of people will recognise that C without thinking about it (just like I bet the BBC II! is actually more widely recognised than some would believe).

Plus the fact that Hacker calls his viewers "cockers" Oh by the way, the newspaper meant the hacker, not the actual presenter. If it was Hacker T Dog, he wouldn't be on TV right now.
