They could, but I suspect the BBC would never consider having the signing on BBC 1 too, so BoJo would need to remain on the NC, and therefore BBC 1 as well <facepalm>

Shouldn't be the BBC's job to offer the signing, but could still be available on the red button and online. Do they even point BBC1 viewers to the news channel for the signed version? I wasn't aware of it till the recent meme.

I agree. And no, I don't think they do point it out.

They do put it on the aston at the start.

It’s so bizarre that bbc world viewers are listening to a detailed interview about UK furlough payments when there’s so much else going on.

I was watching BBC News & CNN HD last night. I think I recalled seeing Mike Embley calling out Trump's inaccurate claim towards an another interviewee about the apparent voter fraud on the mail-in ballots during the 2am bulletin early this morning. BBC News also had an US Election 2020 headline wipe over the regular TOTH music & regular BBC WN titles.

On CNN HD from 2:30am until I had switched off at 5:15am; it was just wall to wall coverage on the results of the election with Wolf Blitzer, John King, Jake Tapper, Anderson Cooper. I then watched a small bit of the 5am coverage with Chris Coumo & Don Lemon with another guy who took over John King's stint on the magic wall showing the election results. I also forgotten the names of the two ladies who were analysing the election with Jake Tapper. I switched off when there was a protest of far right Trump supporters outside a counting centre in Phoenix; Arizona last night.

The reporter there who had been the only journalist allowed into the centre before it closed down for the night & was talking about how to continue giving the results before it shut down. She was also reporting to Cuomo & the viewers on how she was talking with the security & police about how to move out of the centre safely when the local trained professionals were inside continuing to count the remaining overall votes for Arizona.

I heard that some or all of the protestors were reported to be carrying guns while they were protesting at the centre overnight in Phoenix. How did the other U.S. networks cover that story that was unfolding at Arizona last night? Did they have someone in their studio to report on it? It's a terrible disgrace to hear right now that normal local people that actually live in the state of Arizona have to be subjected to having threats from these violent weirdos who are actually attempting to disrupt democracy while the professional vote counters last night were doing their very best to have their version of democracy continue on as normal.

They didn't phone Fox, they went straight to Rupe... who refused

This is really quite nasty, but not unexpected from a certain campaign:

The majority of Pennsylvania ballots could be in late tonight so we could see the big moment that the race is called later.

Looks like itv will be out in Washington until there’s a result...

Lorraine really should have been ditched on ITV.

It actually paid off for ITV by not carrying on election coverage with a news special.

The Lorraine, This Morning and Loose Women target audience generally isn't people who would sit through hours of US election news and speculation and ITV is obviously happy with these Lorraine ratings. She got more viewers than a news special probably would have.

A wise move to keep the usual ITV Daytime shows on air, as an alternative to the BBC World simulcast on BBC One.

And keeping the regular daytime schedule guarantees the usual good advertising revenue during these ever popular shows.

CNN has done really well in this election. Though, it's surprising how much of UK media and political Twitter has only just discovered John King when he's been doing this for years.

I guess one consequence of social distancing is that CNN has abandoned its eight pundits seated around a table format.

Good Morning Britain's coverage of the election hasn't been the best today but compared to BBC Breakfast this morning it's better.

However as much as I can't stand her usually, I've been watching Kay Burley's special America Decides coverage as it's stuck the right balance but it's also been engaging

That would be best case scenario. It's probably more likely we'll have to wait for Nevada which is going to make for a long weekend.

They can justify taking the usual daytime shows off for the UK Election coverage because it matters more to viewers here but the US elections really only needs to be covered by GMB and they can cover it a bit on the other shows but not let it dominate the schedules.

They are still there - just spread across NY and DC. They just haven't used them that much as the results are so tight and the 'magic wall' is much more interesting than commentary. However, as soon as the result is declared - I expect a revert to form with non-stop studio and WebEx talking heads.
