That’s an odd decision considering it’s about the new variant of the virus and cases of it have already been confirmed in Glasgow. yet they’ve taken press conferences that don’t apply to Scotland at all.

EDIT: the same has happened in Scotland so they must be taking the press conference. But no one thought to let the announcer know.

Who'd be a scheduler today?
They'll need to find a 35 minute filler instead of Wreck-it Ralph, and then Final Score is due on at 16:30, which will probably be moved to BBC Two messing up the schedule there.

There are differences in Wales on both BBC One and BBC Two, just to complicate things. I guess Scotland will have to put Sportscene Results on the BBC Scotland channel.

And it means that the final of this weeks House of Games (moved to Saturday because of the It Takes Two being 1 hour) now isn't scheduled.

Never seen the Breaking News sting being used on the screens within the newsroom on the BBC News Special right now. It looks quite good, but might need a bit of a redesign as it does appear a bit blurred.

Would if even be on BBC1 if it wasn't about London?

It's not all about London today, it's also the South East and possibly East Anglia going into a new "tier 4". Chances are there are some changes affecting all of England too.

Reporting Scotland has been extended to 6pm so it’s now on for 40 minutes this evening, BBC1 Scotland dropping mastermind. Presumably to cover the FM press conference.

Clive having to fill as the press conference not starting on time.
BBC1 controllers will be having flashbacks to a month or two back and hoping this isn’t a similar delay to then.

Interesting to see the BBC News helicopter up right over Downing Street, something we don't see very often. Seems a bit of a waste of time. Do they have a set amount of flying hours they're entitled to use in a year and are they just using it up?

They've seemed to remove the graphics for once so the graph isn't hidden.
