While there is an element of excitement about a shared viewing experience, linear viewing is an inconvenience.

My most sacreligious TVF fact seems to be the fact I have never even seen Good Morning Britain, like, not even a minute.

Keep it that way. It's impossible to have 'unseen' it !

There is no need to properly 'close' a news bulletin, which many on here seem to clamour for. I like the way most BBC News editions just get on with it and onto the next thing (and how I wish they'd have the same urgency at the start of the programme).

I talk way more about TV presentation than I should considering I barely watch any TV of my own choice apart from sport.

This seems to happen with all of my hobbies, I loved wrestling but spent most of my time reading dirtsheets and posting memes about it. I play bass but spent more time ogling instruments and gear than practicing after I left Uni. Lockdown has reduced the amount of films I see (I find it much easier to focus in the cinema than in my living room), but even before that, I would regularly listen to Kermode and Mayo without watching a single movie that was mentioned for months at a time.

So, as sad as I am for this forum to close, it will probably do me some good on a personal level. The knowledge on these forums and the creativity of the Gallery is and was incredible for such a specific subject, and the friendliness of everyone here is second to any other forum I've ever been on. But hopefully I'll be able to enjoy watching the programmes as much as I enjoy discussing/complaining about them.

Likewise - other than the ongoing Top of the Pops repeat run, and Click on the BBC News channel, I actually watch virtually no present day television at all - nearly everything I watch is old programmes on DVD.

I actually quite liked Channel 4 Daily ...

Really hate the title graphics and sequence to BBC News - Im sorry but it is just awful - too white and the globe is just horrible - I have seen better mocks on here - they are well dated and really should be updated. Also not a fan of the Reith font - but I do love David Lowe's BBC News theme.
Their graphic packages and presentation for elections have also become really poor. I remember the virtual swingometer from election 2001 that came off the wall and the laser pendulum - thought that was great - what they have had recently is just very bad.

Apologies for the rant

Sportsday is my favourite BBC News-ish theme.

.............I'll admit that I've never really been someone who watches TV, spending most of my time listening to Radio 4/World Service. BBC World 1997 music was lovely but I feel that if it were still being used you'd all be calling it tired, like David Lowe's pips

I wonder if you are old enough to remember these Radio 4 "jingles" that were on in the late 1970s?

I'm afraid I'm far too old to remember any of those!
All my memories of Radio 4 are sadly jingle-less.

I never saw C4 Daily but I thought the first version of RI:SE had a lot of potential.

I liked the C4 Daily clock which actually had little lights which showed each quarter of a minute that had passed. Believe me, as a kid who was prone to being late for school, that was helpful.
