Sky press packs

hi, all.
anyone know what's in a Press Pack.

and where can i got ahold of one. (Will sky also have PP's for BSB???)

I'm not 100% sure what one contains, but having been to corporate websites where Packs can be requested, it looks like they'll only send one to you if you can make yourself sound enough like a Journalist or like someone in the Media (or, of course, if you are someone in the media).

Press packs usually contain information about the company you are researching about. This can include key dates in their history, an overview of how they work, what they do etc - the list is endless.

Most of them freely allow you to download these packs regardless of whether you are a journalist or not - and most of the time they do contain information that is useful if you are researching for other purposes (e.g. for a website or for a school/college/uni project).

On their press area of the website there may also be some other images or decent quality logos - both useful for members of the press and people looking for things to use in their reseach. Depending on the company they may allow you to freely download them off their website or there maybe a password protected area where you can request permission to download it or they may use an external comany such as Visual Media who check your credentials before allowing access ( )

Sky have "Brochures" which I think could be simular to press packs for Sky News and Sky One on the Sky Publicity http://www.skypublicity.co.uk website.
