Tonight's News at Ten was a fantastic reminder of news bulletins in days gone by, and I think on this occasion ITN left the BBC lagging behind.


LMAO every major journalist in the country is praising the BBC NAT (even the Mail) and it's exclusive report from Syria. Even ITV's Chris Ship is directing his followers to it. I have seen not a single mention about ITV. As usual nobody is watching it.

Indeed . . . in fact Jeremy Paxman on Newsnight even speculated that the result of the Commons vote could have been different had Ian Pannell's report for the Ten aired earlier.


Indeed it was utterly shocking, I'm not surprised by the overwhelming reaction.

To be fair, I think both bulletins are worthy of praise tonight. A truly outstanding report from the BBC, and full credit to ITV for agreeing to extend NAT in order to provide live coverage of the Commons vote.

In the time since the new look, that has been the only major newsflash (as far as I'm aware) so I think it is the newsflash, as there is no voiceover/namecheck.
