Has the promo aired on STV or UTV? I don;t think I've seen it being promo'd up here...

No , UTV never have and probably never will air ITV breakfast promo's.

I haven't seen any STV promos either, I did ask if STV broadcast this on its first jct and no it seems .

But surely STV and UTV have a duty to broadcast the promo seeing has ITV Breakfast broadcast on STV and UTV between 6am and 9.25am?

Not sure that they do. Do ITV Breakfast have a duty to run STV and UTV promos during their transmission hours?

No not exactly. UTV and STV own the rights to the Channel 3 slot after 9:25am. From 6 to 9:25am that is ITV breakfast's output (hence why no UTV or STV branding is shown on air during that time).

It is not part of UTV or STV's official output as separate companies from ITV so they do not have to air promos at all.

Daybreak v1 got 1 million viewers on its first episode - hope GMB can match or beat that, but most of all, maintain it.

It's going to be extremely difficult to match that 1 million viewer average figure especially given ITV's breakfast decline in recent years. Last week, Daybreak barely managed to average 600,000 and the last time it hit a peak figure of a million was it mid-march. In addition, they have gone for a soft launch compared to Daybreak initial launch. However, there has been more coverage about the launch in the national press and ITV this week. Remember, Daybreak v2 attracted only 606,000 viewers with a very low key launch. As I've said before anything above 700,000 threshold would be reasonable given the circumstances, but not ideal.

Whatever the launch figures, the key question as you say is that can it maintain the audience over the coming weeks and months. Daybreak managed to lose 30% of the audience within a month of launching. The breakfast TV market is volatile as it is so it's going to be tough particularly with big events this summer such as the Commonwealth Games and World Cup where the BBC have the upper hand in coverage. During the summer of 2012, Olympic Breakfast was attracting over 1.7 million compared to Daybreak's 500,000.

As for Lorraine, I would expect her slot to average as normal around 1 million or just below. It will be interesting to see how the ratings pan out.

With STV HD launching tomorrow, will they have the rights to show GMB in HD?

Oh I like that! It means we'll see a return to Good Morning Calendar, the very first breakfast show in the UK hosted by Bob Warman in the late 70's.

Has anyone heard anything or seen anything on the Lorraine studio, or the logo?
