Other than mass incarcerations, I do wonder what the Azeris would do if they actually did have to give points to Armenia on the night, if they made so much fuss at a mock vote...
Probably the same as they did in rehearsal and stuff it up until Jon Ola Sande has to read them instead.
Probably because of the tight rules we have surrounding voting systems in this country thesedays. The BBC don't want to get involved in any systems that may be less than robust.
Do the cubes in the background use the same smart glass technology that BBC News nearly used for the screens in Studio E? It seemed more obviously like smart glass during "Moustache" to me.
Yes to the smart glass. Also late joining so what effect on the floor? If it's what I'm thinking, it's a large reactive screen, so when people step on it it can sense it and match the graphics.
More on both elements:
One thing I'm curious about - they seem to have lights set behind the video screens at the side of the main stage, shining through. Are these just relatively low-res screens that have large gaps (that you can't really see due to distance) or is there something else they're using to be able to get the light to shine through?
Graham Norton just got surprised by a camera from the host broadcaster coming into his booth, and a short conversation with the two male hosts, on stage. That was unexpected.

It certainly happened in one of the first years he commentated on in one of the commercial slots. He's been mentioned another time, and I remember Wogan being mentioned by the hosts in the past (not including 1998/9) But isn't that when they have the second commercial slot?
