Hmm....the online bit will take a while to do, but will hopefully work it. I go on holiday for 6 weeks starting today so I'll have a long time to work on it. Hopefully it will be finished - online bidding and all within a fortnight.
Last night I was working on it so it worked good on 800x600, and so the leaderboard/bid again etc. looked better. I'm not doing widescreen because as chris said it's a waste of time, and will mean starting pretty much all over again.
The animated arrows will work Smile in this version, but I'm not going to do niggly things like fading in new bids. However, unless no-one is bidding then no-one will be in your auction so it's even more realistic. But don't worry, all current lots will be available from the website automatically. If you don't have good access to the net then this version won't be much use to you, but if you do, you're gonna love it! Razz

Ahem... no-one has a widescreen computer monitor? I beg to differ!

I've got myself the Samsung SyncMaster 172w, which is a WIDESCREEN monitor. If you have a DVI video card (as in supporting higher-quality TFT monitors), you can select a non-standard screen resolution. Therefore, this monitor is WXGA, running at 1280x768.

It's great - you can work on two things side by side. Highly recommended.. and great style.

However, the bid-up simulator is great - I downloaded one of the earlier versions. And it doesn't matter that it's running in 800x600, or 4:3 either.

hmmm...

would it be possible to use it offline - i.e. as you currently can? I just think that the online feature would be good, but the novelty may wear off after a while, and I'd like to have auctions without going online too.

Well - I'm going to start doing lots of work on it from tomorrow, but today I've put the brand new bid-up.tv webcam at lukeweb.co.uk which is now using blue screen too Smile

Crying or Very sad

that's a shame - as i'm sure that others will agree that it was a hell of a good mock - original, and very different to anything else thats ever been posted on the forum!

congrats on a great mock lukeweb, and i hope you return with an improved version in the future!
