I hate to ask, but can you clarify that the man was referring to himself, and not making a cloaked, scurrilous accusation towards the reporter?

Why are overnight headlines on the ticker on the NC during the simulcast with World so short? During the day they're not excessively long but they go into a basic amount of detail, whilst overnight instead of something like 'UK unemployment rate falls to 6.4% in three months to June, according to Office for National Statistics', you get 'UK unemployment falls to 6.4%'.

The ticker on bbc world news is different, can't see why it would affect the news channel.
Presumably during the day one person is responsible for the BBC News Channel ticker and a separate person for the BBC World ticker. Maybe overnight the same person is responsibl for both.

That probably means the ticker is being fed from the same data as used for the website and interactive services.
There's not much point paying someone to look after the UK ticker overnight when there's a source of headlines already being maintained in the building and such a small number of viewers.
Complete fail at the opening of the One. No titles, no video, just Reeta reading to camera. First report failed half way through, Reeta went to a live report. Something seriously wrong there this afternoon.
BBC News at 1 intro completely messed up. Camera suddenly zoomed back, then no headline drums, no headline pics, Reeta C did the whole headlines and intro in-vision, then no titles - she just had to continue with Good Afternoon......
