One O Clock news absolute shambles!

And this is where we see how Reeta is simply not experienced enough to handle such events. No apology, no explanation, nothing.

That's a bit unfair I feel... she kept going and kept it moving quite fluidly, sometimes it may be best not to acknowledge it.

For sure, I feel a slight bit sorry for Reeta - production was shambles more than anything, although, a more experienced presenter wouldn't have gone a miss.

I don't think it's unfair. I've voiced my dislike for her elevation to the main bulletins, and have explained why. I just don't feel she's experienced enough. She needed more time on the NC before landing where she is...IMO

Indeed carry on and if an apology is needed it can be made later in the programme - leaving the news as the priority not technical issues.

Complete fail at the opening of the One. No titles, no video, just Reeta reading to camera. First report failed half way through, Reeta went to a live report. Something seriously wrong there this afternoon.

Looks like they lost the running order from the automation, judging by what happened on air, at 2seconds past one.
I don't think the report failed, was probably a live play from the suite (my guess would be it was a late edit anyway because of the breaking news) and while they were trying to get the running order back probably had no count out of it.
The Dan live would have been manually cut by the director, and they obviously got the order back for the Iraq intro.
Right decision all round, given the issues, in my opinion.

Edit: interesting that the BBC actually had a packaged report on the Cliff Richard story, ITV opened on a reporter on set with float pictures.

Here is a (poor quality) video of the incident.

Also, not sure the issue is totally resolved the News Channels still seems to be suffering with a few problems.

Yes, including that headline which is quite obviously wrong.

(Or at least, I wish it was.)

Moira Stuart said it this morning on Radio 2. Listen to it while you still can so you can record her saying "amazeballs" for your ringtone/text tone/musical greeting card/doorbell chime.
