The Claudia Lawrence mother interview is very good. Regardless if it's suitable for the NC or not, this is VD's strength and could bring people who are normally booked into This Morning for a less sensationalist interview.
That logo in the bottom left really is a terrible piece of graphic design. Completely blends into any light background which makes it look like a stain on the screen. And just to make it worse, it rotates through the worst colour scheme they could come up with.
I agree. Whoever said the graphics resemble Kilroy / Vanessa from the 1990s / early noughties was bang on.
Of course everyone has their own personal preference - the differing opinions on this forum this morning are evidence of that.
Yes, everyone can change the channel. Nobody is being forced to watch. But similarly everyone is entitled to their opinion.
My personal opinion is that the News Channel should be a place to drop in and out . . . until last week I was able to drop in for half an hour and, unless there was a major breaking story, I could expect to get a full roundup of national and international news with full reports and live reaction/interviews, a bit of analysis, sport, business and weather. No fuss, no mood music, no 'audience interaction'. There may been a few vox pops within reports, and maybe the odd social media comment, but I was able to hear facts from expert correspondents and opinions from the people in the news. Not from members of the public debating their views with each other. I don't care about that. I want to hear from the people involved in the news and make up my own mind.
And, I've always preferred to get what I've wanted from the BBC rather than Sky News.
That's my opinion. And that's why, unless the editorial agenda of this programme changes, I'll be dropping into Sky News from tomorrow.
I imagine this is going down like a stone with it's usual BBC NC audience. Some really stupid editorial decisions made. The fluffy PM eating a hot dog piece went on for over 3 minutes! Even the sport is pushing an agenda with another "exclusive" nobody cares about.
It looks like response to this has been fairly positive on twitter. A lot of engagement with the Transgender story, and #VictoriaLive was trending for over an hour in the UK.
Negativity seems to be mostly coming from people affiliated with this site.
