Probably depends on your device but with C5 if you record the first part before the news update it automatically records the second.

I assume this strategy enables an extra ad break as that's the only reason I can think they'd do it. I do wish though they'd record a sports news update for ITV4 instead - that would be far more suitable.

IIRC it's to do with ratings reporting; BARB counts it as two separate programmes which is in some way advantageous.

I guess it means people will see the right adverts and not complain about getting the wrong local news? Presumably the former is the driving force for this. As more and more viewing is in HD, advertisers want their audience to see their adverts irrespective of the version of the channel they watch.

Has anyone seen a THIS week on ITV promo? I had the spotted said promo while having the misfortunes to see ITV be.

Indeed. The trailers for Bang on the money and Play to the whistle have a pink/blue gradient on them over the circular 'i opener' design that matches to a super Saturday logo.

The Super Saturday trailer is a nice change to the usual trailer design but still compliments the brand
