How long are we giving it, then? I reckon two years max.
The irony of this is that if Sky actually ever came up with a decent and well thought out logo for any of their channels, they would not have to constantly spend money making it look fresh and original and new every three years.
Considering Murdoch hates the BBC for its bureaucracy, Sky spend a heck of a lot of money doing not very much at all.
Trouble is, most people, that's all the channel is about...
That's what gets the viewers. If Sky One lost the Simpsons they would be up a certain creek without the metaphorical paddle.
I know they are buying a couple of things from HBO, and have one of the Murdoch clan making a history documentary, but two programmes do not make a channel.
It is still going to be filled with crap unless Sky turn their hand to making some serious programmes, and given that Sky have been promising this for the past 7 years or so and nothing has appeared, does seem as though it may never happen.
I think it's quite clever actually. You've got a circle for the o, a triangle for the n and a square for the e. Exterior angle traces around each shape to form the letters - and this would also mean that for teaser promotion of the new logo the shapes can be shown in colour.
Well I for one like the logo. It's modern and looks fresh and just generally pleasing to the eye. It reads Sky One to me, just as VH1's logo reads VH1.

No, it was more the me pointing out that a very current debate is slipping down the forum and is being replaced by posts about posts being locked, the locked posts, and posts about past events in TV Pres.
