I'd agree with that. I wouldn't say it's completely obvious that you're watching on +1 when the ITV+1 DOG is so tiny. Other than the incorrect clock, you don't have much else to go on if you're just waking up and you don't realise what channel you're watching.
Maybe just covering the clock up with a bigger GMB logo would be the answer?
They really do need to cover up the clock on +1 or at least put a much bigger +1 DOG when Good Morning Britain/Lorraine is on.

They do now, yes.
Do they show it on STV+1 now - I know they didn't on STV HD initially (or Daybreak at least).

Surely you would have the wit to realise that a live television programme would know what time it was? Why would they possibly get it wrong?

Do these people who complain about the incorrect clock on GMB not have other clocks in the house they can look at?
As I sit here I can see six clocks on various devices all saying it's just after ten past three. That would suggest to me if I sat here at 7:20am and I can see six clocks saying 7:20am and one saying 6:20am, which of the seven clocks I can see am I more likely to agree with? Oh of course, the 6:20am one because I just happen to be looking at the TV.
Rather than covering the +1 clock up, why not just stick a new graphic on it with the correct time? Okay all the audio references will be wrong but the clock will be right. It's been demonstrated before they can edit the feed for +1, and if Channel 5 can put "don't call us" straps on their Five US/Star + 1 channels during the shopping segments, I'm sure ITV can put one up with a new clock for GMB+1.

Surely putting a new clock up will just confuse people even more. The majority of viewers probably don't want to watch one hour old news with a correct clock; they want to be watching the latest news on the proper channel. Putting some sort of +1 graphic over the clock would solve this. Even if just for the perfectly normal and nice people who don't realise for say 5, 10, 15 minutes and don't complain on Twitter about it.
I think we're past the stage of thinking people won't be so witless as to think the clock is an hour behind instead of realising it's a +1 channel… especially when they've just woke up!

The reason I suggested replacing the clock on +1 is because the complaints are from people who haven't realised they're watching +1 for reasons already explained. Doing that would probably chop the majority of clock complaints in one fell swoop.
The majority of days the news hours and content are the same anyway, its just the same content with the same people with different contributors for the guests, and if anything major does happen that it would be important to be following, put a strap up to redirect them.

I think what Piers is getting at is that it's very early and not many people would be watching as they would at say 8am.

Interesting to see this on Facebook earlier... Susanna seemed genuinely shocked that Piers mentioned the viewing figures on-air. I was surprised to see that they restarted the OT just so that Piers could say 'his' line.

That's evidently not the case, otherwise Susanna would not state, "No, many many people are watching". They were talking about the horrendous viewing figures, they know it and we know it. Everyone seems to hide behind the ratings, pretending there not there?
The ratings don't define how good a show is, fair enough, it may not get the credit it deserves, but it does define whether or not the show is succeeding/failing.
The show is failing. Fact.
